I’m going to Israel

Hello!! I am traveling to Israel today. Israel. Today. This is so crazy and exciting and scary and fun!!!?! because I’m traveling alone and nervous and typically a spaz and forget something I actually made a packing list this time and didn’t wait till the last minute to get ready. Yayyy!!

I made a packing list and checked it as I packed. and because Camiseta Montpellier HSC I’m traveling for a marathon I also had to make sure I had all my running gear. I wrote my running should haves on a gallon sized plastic bag.

Then, I checked the marathon course elevation. Uh-oh. This this is HILLY! I’ve read some race recaps and have heard the course is either up or down the entire time, there’s no flat. and I read several accounts that this is ‘one of the hardest races I’ve ever run’.

I plan to take a lot of pictures and really delight in the experience so I’m not concerned about my race time, but I am concerned about hiking some of those big hills while jet-lagged.

I got a backpack and filled it with books, snacks and my overnight flight necessities: eye mask, ear plugs, extra Camiseta Olympique Lyonnais socks, neck pillow.

This morning I hit the sidewalk for a 9 mile run. It’s probably the last good run I’ll do before the race. I might try to get in a shake out few miles before the marathon – hopefully the hotel has a good gym.

The best Pizza You’ve ever had

When the pizza gods call I answer, so I dug a Lean Cuisine pizza out of my freezer (they were recently on sale $2 each) and nuked it.

It was just okay, but don’t they say pizza is like sex? even bad pizza is still pretty good

This got me thinking about the best pizza I’ve ever had…

Since I love pizza I’ll take it wherever I can get it and I’ve had everything from $5.00 take-out to frozen to Chicago Deep dish to 6am calls for room service in Vegas…

I think “Hunger makes the best sauce” and post-run pizza can be Heavenly. I had this baby at BJ’s Brewery after my last marathon.

But the best pizza I’ve ever had title goes to the Chicago Deep dish from Gino’s I had this summer while attending the healthy Living Summit.

I threated to never eat pizza again if it wasn’t Chicago deep dish because I didn’t want to destroy (or roon) the memory. It was real deep dish! I don’t think I’ve ever had pizza this tall before.

I’m sure the 16 miles I ran that morning helped it taste extra dee-lish, but still. It was AMAZING.
