I feel like there are a lot of 2 week, 5 week, 52 week clean eating / Advocare / Insert Your fave Cleanse / challenges going on lately. I’ve been watching other’s weight loss and toning progress and getting super motivated!

Examples: Janetha’s 24 Day challenge and mama Laughlin’s 2 Week Cleanse.

This time of year is always a challenge for me. I love all the holiday food that Oct 31st – Jan 1st bring – Reese’s PB Cups, Pumpkin Pie, Stuffing, Eggnog, Tamales…. Yes.

But, I often end up feeling out of control and in the past this is the time of year when I join Weight Watchers out of desperation. For whatever reason WW doesn’t work well for me so I end up quitting.

(I know, I could have real problems so I’m not complaining just talking to myself online.)

This year I don’t want to repeat the cycle so I’m doing my own mini-5 week challenge to stay accountable to myself. It’s nothing crazy, but a personal plan to try and stay ‘normal’ (which is obviously hard for me). I just wanted to  share my brain thoughts this morning and let ya know I weighed in, took pics and checked my body fat yesterday (for the first time in months) to keep myself in check for the next few weeks – I’m aiming to maintain during this time more than anything else!

Last night I made an remarkable and ‘clean’ dinner of eggs with asparagus and my roasted butternut squash recipe. love this.

Now I am off to try and get in front of a few blog posts before Thanksgiving is here. I plan on logging off Thursday except for Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Ecuador the obligatory T-day dinner picture.

In other Food news…

In other news – did you see the Food Network’s live feed thing where Giada almost chopped off her finger? I just caught the end of it when it already happened, but the way they were talking about the cut it seemed like a big deal! <- pic on that link of her finger. I am 100% convinced that will happen to me one day because I have NO idea how to chop stuff. plus I have been told I “open boxes like I have a death wish” – which happens daily with all the stuff I get for RER! I’m sporting the Sketchers Go Run 4s. These may be the most lightweight shoes I’ve ever ran in – they’re super light as well as soft.

Fontana half Marathon–Fastest half in the US!

I had a half marathon this morning that is about 63 miles away in Fontana, CA. considering that I had to pick up my packet and catch a bus to the start, I set my alarm for 3:45am. I crawled into bed ideal around 10pm.

I think I got an hour of sleep. All I know is I did not feel rested and was very nervous about my second half marathon of the week.

As soon as we got to the race Ben fell asleep in the motorist seat and I was on my own. No, I didn’t write on his face while he was passed out but I considered it.I grabbed my packet, returned it to the car and caught a bus to the starting line.

The Fontana half Marathon starts at a campsite 2,150 feet up in elevation from the finish. So, it was a lot colder at the start then where I left the car and I didn’t take my sweatshirt. It took me a long time to warm up once we got going Camiseta Everton FC too.It was FREEZING! Their slogan “Run like The Wind” is ideal – it was incredibly windy too!

Since I just ran a half marathon where I went “all out” on Monday I wasn’t sure what my legs could do today. I hoped to pr again because it’s such an easy course, but knew that might not happen given the lack of sleep and worn out knees.

Well, my half Marathon pr only lasted 5 days! My new half marathon pr is 1:42:28

I know this is an “easy” course, but considering that I’m built a lot more like a manatee lion than a gazelle I think it just evens the score. Some might say this isn’t fair or encourage to put an asterisk by the time, but if we’re going to start doing that – I’m going to put an asterisk by all my races times with *over 150 pounds and still got this time…

I grabbed a piece of bagel and a chocolate Zico before heading back to the car where my roommate was still recovering from his hangover.

We stopped at Mimi’s Café for breakfast. Ben got the seasonal Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes that rocked my sweaty face off.

I stole half of the fluffiest one. Amazing.

I got an omelet with fruit… (I like to really indulge after a race, but went with my intuitive eating signals and wanted this).

and a Cinnamon Brioche roll with vanilla icing.

I love muffins and cinnamon rolls and donuts (but nothing with crème filling). Oh and, Ben and I spent way too long going over Cinnabun over breakfast…
